The University Club of Portland is a space where Members of different backgrounds, perspectives and dreams unite. Honoring the longtime tradition of “Membership by Invitation,” our community continues to grow while upholding the utmost integrity and authenticity. The University Club was founded in 1898 and continues to be unequivocally Oregon in the heart of downtown Portland. The Club welcomes creators and leaders to come together to connect, work, host & entertain. It is an inclusive and safe place for our Members and their guests to network and build relationships!

Application Process

Since 1898, the University Club has prided itself on the Membership application process that is still in place today. When exploring the idea of Membership at the Club, it is a great idea to get acquainted with the application process. This will assist you in understanding the steps we will invite you to take in order to join our Membership community.

Steps to Membership

  1. Connect with the UC Membership Sales Director to schedule a Membership Tour
  2. Complete the Membership Application 
  3. UC Membership requires 2 current Member sponsors to sign off on the Membership application.  If you do not know any current UC Members, do not get discouraged! We will make Sponsor introductions for you!
  4. Completed application will be reviewed and voted on by the University Club’s Membership Committee & Board of Directors at their monthly meeting. If the Membership Application is approved…
  5. Completed application is posted to the Membership-At-Large for 14 days
  6. If the Membership application is approved, the Proposed Membership Applicant will be contacted with an official “WELCOME” and to set up a time to complete the Membership paperwork, finalize payment methods & answer all unanswered questions.

Membership Sales Director

Meet Amanda Grimm. She's a Portland native who brings extensive experience in customer service, hospitality, travel, and sales to the UC Team. She joins us after over a decade-long career as an international flight attendant, including serving major league sports teams. A graduate of Portland State University, Amanda also dedicated significant time during her studies working overseas with military children across Europe and Asia. In her free time, she enjoys practicing aerial acrobatics, exploring the Pacific Northwest, and spending quality time with her St. Bernard puppy, Lola.

Membership Tours

Membership Tours are encouraged to fully envision your future at the University Club and to learn all of the opportunities waiting for you within the Club walls. Tours are also a great chance to ask questions, connect with potential Member sponsors & visualize how you will get the most value from the amenities we offer!

Tours are available on Tuesday through Friday between the hours of 9:00 am & 8:00 pm.
