The University Club Foundation was founded in 1991 for the purpose of preserving and maintaining the historic portions of the University Club building in the public interest. This includes providing historic information about the Club to the public online, providing public access to the Club periodically, and collaborating with architectural, historic and academic organizations within Portland to showcase the historic nature of the building.
If you are about to sell appreciated stocks, you can avoid the capital gains tax by gifting the stock directly to the UC Foundation. You get a charitable donation credit on the market value of the stock.
If you are 70.5 or older, and are taking required minimum distributions (RMD) from your retirement plan, you can avoid paying income tax on up to $100,000 of your distributions if you gift the money directly from your plan to the UC Foundation!
For longer range estate tax planning please go to the Planned Giving pages for some good ideas!
The University Club Foundation is a 501(c)(3) public charitable organization. Donations made to the Foundation are 100% tax deductible and will be used for historic preservation of the University Club of Portland clubhouse.
