One of the things I appreciate most about the University Club is how naturally great conversations unfold over a well-chosen glass. Our wine program is built with that in mind. We work closely with exceptional producers and distributors to curate a list that balances familiar favorites with bottles that spark discovery. From our weekly complimentary tastings to our seasonal wine dinners and the member-exclusive wine subscription box, there are endless opportunities to explore something new or revisit something you love.

Our cocktail program is crafted with the same care. Classic recipes sit alongside modern favorites, each made with quality ingredients and thoughtful technique. At the University Club of Portland, beverage culture comes to life through experiences that are as intentional as they are refined. Our sommelier is available to work directly with members to select wines that elevate every occasion; be it an intimate dinner, a milestone celebration, or building the perfect cellar at home. With a deep knowledge of producers, vintages, and pairings, this personalized service ensures that every bottle tells a story, every pour reflects your palate, and every experience is rooted in quality.

The Signature Pour: UC Pinot Noir

Our handcrafted UC Pinot Noir is a celebration of place, partnership, and tradition. In collaboration with Et Fille Wines, renowned for their thoughtful, nuanced expressions of Willamette Valley fruit, we’ve created six exclusive vintages dating back to 2018. Each blend was crafted with care to reflect the character of the season and the spirit of the Club. The UC Pinot is a true embodiment of our beverage culture: rooted in quality, guided by intention, and made to be shared.

Wholesale Wine Program

The University Club’s Wholesale Wine Program offers members exclusive access to exceptional wines at wholesale pricing. Carefully curated by our sommelier, the selection includes both renowned labels and hidden gems, perfect for everyday enjoyment, special occasions, or building a home cellar. It’s one more way we bring the Club’s hospitality and taste for excellence into your home; beyond the dining room and into your everyday life.

Wednesday Social Hours
 
Wednesday Social Hours are a relaxed midweek ritual designed to bring members together over a shared glass and easy conversation. Each week features a wine tasting curated by the Club’s sommelier, offering the chance to explore new varietals, regions, or producers in an approachable, welcoming setting. The wines featured during Social Hour are available for members to purchase at wholesale pricing, making it easy to take a favorite bottle home or add it to a personal cellar. There’s no formality and no agenda—just a natural pause in the week to unwind, connect with fellow members, and enjoy the pleasure of discovering something new.

Our monthly Wine Dinners are one of the Club’s most anticipated experiences, bringing members together around thoughtfully prepared multi-course menus paired with exceptional wines. Each dinner is curated in collaboration with our culinary team and sommelier, exploring notable regions, producers, and styles while keeping the atmosphere warm, social, and unpretentious. These evenings are as much about conversation and connection as they are about what’s in the glass. For many members, Wine Dinners become a tradition: a reason to mark the calendar, invite friends, and experience the Club at its most convivial.

UC Wine Club

The UC Wine Club is a quarterly exploration of the unexpected and the unforgettable. Each mixed case is hand-selected by our sommelier to showcase emerging regions, lesser-known AVAs, and rising stars in the world of wine. From crisp whites and bold reds to the occasional wild card, every box offers a curated tasting experience designed to surprise, delight, and expand your palate, all delivered with the same care and curiosity that define the Club’s approach to wine.

UC Wine Club

For members who enjoy keeping their favorite bottles close at hand, our temperature-controlled wine lockers offer both convenience and care. Located just steps from the Main Dining Room, these private lockers allow you to store a sample of your personal collection on-site, ready to be uncorked for a quiet dinner or a celebratory event. Locker holders also enjoy waived corkage fees, making it easier than ever to share something special with friends, clients, or family at the table.
 

Limited Allocations
 


Access to limited-allocation wines is one of the most valued privileges of membership at the University Club of Portland. Through longstanding relationships with trusted producers and distributors, members are offered opportunities to purchase rare and highly sought-after bottles that are often unavailable to the general public. These selections are thoughtfully curated by the Club’s sommelier and made available for members to enjoy at home or at the Club, ensuring they are opened, shared, and appreciated as intended. It’s a benefit rooted in trust, stewardship, and a genuine respect for wine, where access is earned through community, not status, and every bottle tells a story meant to be savored.

Our rotating cocktail menu blends timeless classics with fresh, inventive recipes, giving members something familiar to return to alongside something new to discover. Seasonal offerings keep the program dynamic, drawing inspiration from the time of year and the ingredients that feel right in the moment. Beyond cocktails, the Club features a well-curated selection of beer and cider, with an emphasis on quality producers and crowd favorites alike. Equal attention is given to our non-alcoholic offerings, which go far beyond the expected, featuring carefully crafted zero-proof cocktails and elevated options that allow every guest to feel included at the bar. Together, these elements create a beverage experience that feels welcoming, modern, and deeply rooted in hospitality, making the bar a natural gathering place for members at any hour.
